parkingAmerican Tin Cannery Parking MetersThe City of Pacific Grove recently installed new meters around the American Tin Cannery (close to the Monterey Bay Aquarium) down Eardley, Ocean View Boulevard, Dewey, and Sloat. The new meters conveniently accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover, as well as still accepting coin. Meters are operable 7 days a week from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm with no time restrictions.

Contractor Parking PermitsContractor parking permits are available for purchase through the Pacific Grove Police Department at 580 Pine Avenue and (831) 648-3143.

Downtown Parking Lot PermitsEmployees, business owners, and employers are encouraged to take advantage of our Downtown Parking Lot Permit Program. These permits are available for Lots 2, 4, and 5 and are issued through the Finance Department at (831) 648-3100 in City Hall. There is a charge for reserving a space, and this is billed and collected at the reception counter in City Hall. In some cases, there is a waiting list of persons who would like to reserve spaces, when there are more applicants than spaces available. In such cases, the spaces are filled on a first come basis.The cost for Municipal Parking Lot permits are $36 a month, and $340 for one year.

Free Parking Downtown & Beach Front ParkingThe downtown and beachfront areas have a variety of time limits, mostly 2 and 3-hour spaces, so be sure to read the posted signs.

Lot 1: Fountain (between Lighthouse and Laurel)
Both 2 hour and 24-hour spaces

Lot 2: 17th (between Lighthouse and Laurel)
2-hour spaces & permit parking

Lot 3: Forest (between Lighthouse and Laurel)
90-minute spaces

Lot 4: Forest (between Lighthouse and Central)
90-minute spaces & permit parking

Lot 5: 15th (between Ricketts Row & Central)
90-minute spaces & permit parking

Lot 6: Lover's Point (17th & Ocean View)

Overnight Parking of Oversized Vehicles or TrailersIt is unlawful to park a vehicle measuring over twenty-two feet (including bumpers) on any public street between the hours of 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM. Residents may request a permit for a maximum of 72 hours in a seven day period. These permits are available through the Pacific Grove Police Department at 580 Pine Avenue and (831) 648-3143.Parking Citations

Residential Parking PermitsThere are a variety of residential parking permits available for those living within the city limits of Pacific Grove, and specifically within certain zones. Residential permits are available online or through the Finance Department at (831) 648-3100 in City Hall. Up to two residential parking permits may be issued in a calendar year for the exclusive use of the resident and/or visitors to the residence.
