Nick Smith was elected to the Pacific Grove City Council in 2016 and re-elected in 2020.

Nick has served as the City’s representative on the Board of Directors of Monterey One Water since 2019.  He has also served as the Council liaison to the City’s Beautification and Natural Resources Commission and Recreation Board.  Before his election to the Council, Nick served on the Pacific Grove Planning Commission from 2014-2016 during a very active period of long-range planning and land use policy development.

Nick became an attorney at the age of 25 and has practiced law for 15 years. He is currently practicing with the firm of Horan Lloyd in Carmel, one of the most respected firms on the Central Coast. From 2006-2013, Nick served as a Deputy District Attorney in Santa Barbara County.

Nick earned a J.D. from University of California, Hastings College of the Law and a B.A., with honors, in Political Science from University of California, Santa Barbara.

Nick’s three daughters, Avery, Harper, and Kendall, attend elementary school in Pacific Grove.
