STABBING INVESTIGATION: ARREST UPDATE


Pacific Grove, California: 

On 11/15/21, at approximately 6:05 PM, Pacific Grove Police Department officers responded to the report of a stabbing on the Pacific Grove Recreation Trail near the American Tin Cannery. The victim received medical attention and was transferred to a local hospital.
The injuries are not life threatening.

Today, on 11/16/21, at approximately 3:55 PM, Pacific Grove Police Department officers conducted an arrest warrant, contacted the suspect, and took him into custody without incident.

Daniel Hardin (29), a local transient, was arrested for 245 PC – Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Hardin was transported and booked at the Monterey County Jail.

The victim and suspect were not known to each other, and the suspect’s motivation remains unknown.

We understand these calls for service create concern for our community members. This is a great example of law enforcement and the community working together. With the community’s assistance and the hard work and dedication of PGPD staff, this case was solved within 24 hours.
