Our department serves community members and visitors to our city of all ages. We strive to provide the highest quality community services, youth and adult activities, and access to parks and facilities. Our mission is to increase the quality of living for the citizens of Pacific Grove and the Monterey Peninsula.

2021 WinterSpring PLAY-IT-SAFE Programs - Registration Open 

Registration is open for the PG Recreation and Library Spring PLAY-IT-SAFE Programs with classes scheduled to begin the week of March 15. 2021 programs include youth and adult outdoor fitness programs, at-home arts & crafts, outdoor dance classes, and more!

All in-person programs will adhere to state and county guidelines and will be held outdoors while accommodating a minimum of 6 feet of distance at all times. To review the health and safety modifications for the programs, please click here.

Parks and Facilities 

Pacific Grove boasts 28 parks, ranging from the beach sands of Lovers Point Park to the forest of Monterey Pines. Park reservations are available for parties, events, weddings, picnics, BBQ's, sports practices/games and more. Looking for a place to host your meeting or event? The City of Pacific Grove offers a variety of community centers, event hall and and meeting spaces to accomodate groups of all sizes.
