We advise community members to monitor updates from the County Public Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) for the latest information on COVID-19 guidance, and everyday actions to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus within our community.
Renter & Homeowner Resources
The California Business Consumer Services and Housing Agency has produced two informational flyers with resources for renters and homeowners:

During the COVID-19 health emergency, Monterey Bay Economic Partnership (MBEP) continues to support local governments and other partners in addressing housing needs.

Religious Services and Cultural Ceremonies
On Monday, May 25, 2020, the California Department of Public Health announced the statewide reopening of places of worship for religious services. These organizations can reopen in Monterey County, if they meet the State of California’s criteria. Under the new guidance, places of worship can hold religious services and funerals that limit attendance to 25% of a building’s capacity or up to 100 attendees, which ever is lower. Charter Boat Services
Charter Boat operators may begin operating effective June 12, 2020, subject to the requirements set forth in the Monterey County Health Officer Orders, and subject to any additional requirements set forth in guidance by the County Health Officer, the Governor of California, and State Health Officer. Monterey Bay Community Power (MBCP)
MBCP has adopted a resolution to defer MBCP charges by 50% in May and June for all customers to assist in the financial burden COVID-19 inflicted on central coast communities’ residents and businesses. No action needed. Please read the April 13th Press Release and FAQ for more information.
Monterey and Salinas Animal Services
Effective April 1st and until further notice, all animals found within the City limits of Salinas and Marina will be temporarily housed at Monterey County Animal Services located at 160 Hitchcock Road in Salinas, which is next door to the current Salinas Animal Shelter. Read more here.
Cloth Face Coverings
Monterey County has issued a face covering order effective 12:01 am Thursday April 30, 2020 until further notice.
CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission. As of March 18, the following stores are offering some ways for elders and others at risk to access groceries. Please check the store websites to stay up-to-date on any changes.

Trader Joe's - 1st hour of opening EVERY DAY (check your store for hours)
Safeway/Andronicos/Luckys - 7-9 am every Tuesday and Thursday
Whole Foods - 8-9 am on Wednesdays
Target - 1st hour of opening on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (check your store for hours)

Community Hospital of Monterey County (CHOMP)
CHOMP is providing FREE e-visits for those who believe they have symptoms of COVID-19. All you need is a smartphone or computer. Click here for more information.
Restaurants Open for Takeout and Delivery
Support a local business! The Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce has a listing of local resturaunts providing take out and delivery.
Monterey also has an ongoing list of restaurants available for take out and delivery.
Delivery is also provided by GrubHub, Door Dash and more.
Protection for Homeowners and Renters:
Governor Newsom issues executive order to protect home owners and renters during COVID-19 pandemic. Learn more here.
Effective March 28, 2020, MST Services will be suspended during the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Effective Wednesday, 3/18/20, the Monterey-Salinas Transit will waive passenger fares on all services to include the RIDES ADA Paratransit service. Also, Coach Operators shall initiate rear-door loading and unloading procedures on all coaches that are so equipped, (Exceptions include passengers boarding with mobility aids and those who request the use of the ramp to board the service). This MST directive shall become effective at 12:01 AM Wednesday, 3/18/2020, and shall remain in effect until 11:59 PM Tuesday, April 7, 2020. All additional costs and lost fare revenues related to this emergency shall be tracked and used to seek reimbursement from any federal, state or local funding sources that may emerge.

Monterey Bay Aquarium
The Aquarium is temporarily closed until at least April 8th. Please check their website frequently for updates and to learn more about virtual activities they are offering.
Consistent with the revised version of the Monterey County Shelter in Place Order, and with social distancing protocols required for play, the Pacific Grove Golf Links has announced that they will be open starting this Monday, May 4. They will be accepting requests for Monday tee times starting tomorrow, Saturday, May 2.
