From the Gothic period to the Renaissance, stained glass was the most widespread form of public art in Europe. That tradition continues today in religious spaces, residences, public gathering places, and beyond. This art glass-focused webinar will look at some of the challenges in restoration and conservation of these unique works of public art, including the iconic Grace Cathedral of San Francisco.
Attendees will also look at how to navigate the realities of day-to-day stained and leaded glass conservation treatment with regulatory expectations. Select examples of Health & Safety improvements utilized at Nzilani Glass Conservation will be reviewed, with advice for implementing these improvements in one's own studio. Ms. Ariana Makau will review OSHA, as well as Federal and local construction regulations, arriving at some best practices for a safer working environment for everyone.
