Sidewalk Dining: Permit Application Fees Waived

As of May 21, 2020, the City is waiving Sidewalk Dining permit application fees. The City's goal is to encourage and promote sidewalk dining to help improve the local business economy, create a more urban pedestrian environment, and promote and protect the public health, safety and general welfare. For more information click on the link below.

Sidwalk Dining and the License Application

The City is here to facilitate and looking forward to our City's restaurants re-opening when allowed by the Monterey County Health Officer.

The City is waiving fees and hearings for the following:

  • Sidewalk Dining permits; which allow dining on the sidewalk
  • Encroachment permits; that allow for reservation of parking spaces to facilitate curbside pick up for take-out service;
  • Administrative Use permits, to allow temporary outdoor dining on private property.
