Construction of the $2.8 million Point Pinos Coastal Trail project is underway. “This marks a notable milestone in a project that originated in 2012, and is the culmination of years of public feedback, design, and engineering,” said Daniel Gho, Public Works Director.
The project brings to fruition the vision of a safe, enjoyable pedestrian path along Pacific Grove's entire coastline by filling a 0.8-mile gap in the California Coastal Trail (CCT). Currently, the CCT exists along the entire coast of the City of Monterey and three of the four miles of the City of Pacific Grove’s coast. Additional project benefits include enhanced access, parking, and stormwater collection.
